The Emergence of TheSHAIC
Coming to a new country can be one of the hardest thing to go through. Its a form of a reset where you forget everything and go to an unknown place not knowing what awaits. It is even worse when you are running for your life, either because of war or persecution. It means that there was little preparation for the new life ahead. As if that was not enough, you land to this new land, with lots of hope and so much misinformation; you have no clue where to go, who to call or cry to. That was the experience for some of us. Well, others do not have to go through the same ordeal. They don't have to make the mistakes that we did while we are watching. This is why this organization was established; to offer the one stop platform where you can get any information on how to settle down in Canada. Once you register, You are able to connect with other members, see available shelters, legal aid, food banks among other essential information. Welcome on Board
Directors
The directors of TheSHAIC are all immigrants from Africa. We were brought here by the promise of a safer and free world that has regards for all mankind. Our goal is to see Newcomers from Africa get by as they settle down in Canada. Its our joy when we see them settle down in their careers, Get good shelters; especially for refugees. For students, we connect them to other continuing students for mentorship among other services.
